Job Overview

Join our vibrant Children’s Ministry team as a Children Ministry Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help nurture the spiritual growth and well-being of the youngest members of our church. In this role, you will support the preparation and execution of Sunday morning activities, foster a safe and welcoming environment, and assist our Children’s Ministry Director in discipling children and families. Your welcoming presence and organizational skills will inspire children to explore the story of the Bible while building meaningful relationships within our faith community.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a welcoming environment for children on Sunday mornings by managing Check-in/Check-out procedures, supervising during activities, and maintaining safety protocols, including, but not limited to: 1) setting up and supervising the check-in station: computers, label makers, and registration paperwork; 2) fielding questions from visitors and directing them to appropriate classrooms; and, 3) assisting children’s transition from worship space to classrooms
  • Assist volunteers on Sunday mornings as well as during Children Ministry events, including: 1) ensuring volunteers have name tags and the information/supplies they need for lesson, and 2) following up with volunteers after service to report back any needed supplies, concerns, suggestions to Children’s Ministry Director.
  • Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry Director, other church staff, and volunteers to coordinate KidsRestore on Sunday mornings as well as quarterly outreach events
  • Help the Children’s Ministry Director with weekly preparation of the classroom lesson and art supplies for KidsRestore Sunday morning classes.
  • Support the Children’s Ministry Director in training new volunteers, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive atmosphere that encourages spiritual growth.
  • Serve as the lead or assistant teacher on Sunday mornings as needed.
  • Engage children and answer questions as needed when in the classroom.

Requirements

  • Commitment to invest time into a vital relationship with Christ through prayer, Bible study, worship, and service.
  • Make every effort to live into the Vision and Mission of Restoration Church.
  • Proven experience working with children in educational, religious, or childcare settings; prior teaching experience is highly valued.
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision – attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary in this role.

Pay: $14.50 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 per week
